2008 UK 3D Championship

23.10.2008

On the 19th-21st September 2008 the best pilots in the UK met up for the annual UK 3D Championships. The weather was superb with sunshine both days and very light winds. The preliminary rounds were hard fought with three rounds contributing to a top five preliminary ranking. Those rounds were set moves, flight to music and freestyle. The top five pilots then went on to the finals to battle it out for the overall competition placings.

Trevor Burley who runs a Scorpion HK4025-740kv in his Align T-Rex 600E did just enough in the preliminary rounds, placing 5th overall and qualifying for the fly offs. In the finals Trev put in some very low and exciting technical flying to raise himself up through the field and come in 2nd place overall. Trev's Scorpion powered T-Rex 600E was by far the most powerful model at the competition with some incredible power on display in some of his freestyle moves. This contributed to his final scores and 2nd place overall. Well done Trev!
