As winter was starting to thaw and the temperatures were rising one of the first events of the season was the Saint George, Utah annual Presidents Day FunFly. This event is always one to look forward to promising good weather, good flying and good friends!
The event dates are normally help in February, but the club decided to push back the dates a couple weeks in order to guarantee better weather fro the event. This was for sure the right decision because the weather had AMAZING weather. It was sunny, warm, and light winds for the majority of the event.
There were around 100 pilots in attendance with all sorts of models showcased. Freestyle Airplanes, Turbine Jets, Scale Models, 3D Helicopters, and more.
There was a great raffle for the spectators and pilots alike, with great donations from many companies including Scorpion, Horizon Hobby, Hobby Town etc. ‘
At this event I was excited to debut my new Freestyle Airplane which I had spent the last 5 years building! My Custom built 107” Extra 330SC which was using Scorpion SII-6530-180kv motor and Tribunus II 200A ESC. Powered by just 2 x 6s 5800mah batteries this model was VERY light weight and had great power and flight time! Also I painted this airplane in my favorite scheme taken from my Logo 700 Canopy Scheme.
For 2021 if you live any wear on the west coast then you need to check out and consider this event because it is one for the books for sure!
